The MBS RS-1023 Extended Automatic Transmission Dipstick for 2019-2023 Ford Ranger with the 2.3 EcoBoost engine and the 10R80 automatic transmission.

The MBS extended automatic transmission dipstick replaces the short, hard to reach factory dipstick that is located on the side of the transmission above the exhaust.  Once the MBS extended dipstick is installed, you can check the transmission fluid level with ease.  Access is simple, open the hood and use the easy to reach extended dipstick to check the fluid level, add as needed, or refill the transmission fluid after a transmission service or repair.

The MBS dipstick housing is a precise fitting, preformed, PTFE steel braided -10 hose, with specific design features that ensure a proper fit, complete with the adapter fitting for the transmission, and custom billet 6061 aluminum anodized mounting bracket with the top fitting adapter. The MBS dipstick is the correct factory Ford yellow dipstick handle that was once standard equipment on many Fords. It comes completely pre-marked and it has the correct factory text and level markings for checking the fluid level. Additionally the handle has the correct text for the ULV fluid that is required.

The MBS dipstick comes with detailed instructions, including 13 color pictures for a easy to understand installation guide, as well as an available installation video, we highly recommend watching the video, it is really helpful.  The installation is not difficult, anyone with basic mechanical skills should be able to complete the installation.  It is a snug fit though, Ford did not leave much room in their compact trucks engine compartment. The design of the MBS extended transmission dipstick allows for a neat, compact fit without any compromises.

The dipstick bolts to a sturdy unused factory bracket at the back of the engine.

The dipstick has been preformed for ease of installation and a exact fit.

The dipstick hose has been manufactured with three formed angles.  The two part bonding agent is heat cured in a forming fixture, then chilled, to set and hold the shape. It is designed to keep the dipstick clear of the firewall, the heat shields and all of the wire looms.

Laser etched fluid level markings that match the factory dipstick markings.  The correct fluid level checking instructions (from the owners manual).


Each dipstick housing and dipstick insert are a calibrated matched set, allowing for the accurate remote checking of the automatic transmission fluid level.

The dipstick hose is a high quality PTFE material. It has remarkable temperature resistant properties, it can operate from -100*F to +500*F without any problems.

The MBS dipstick was designed, developed and tested in the Southern California desert.  It has been tested for thousands of miles in high heat conditions, as well as high load driving up long grades.  The famous Interstate 5 Grapevine grade made a great testing ground, at 6% grade for over 5 miles it really heats things up. The dipstick has also spent time at -14 below in the Utah mountains, the PTFE material performs flawlessly under all conditions.

The MBS RS-1023 extended automatic transmission dipstick is the only preformed dipstick available for the Ford Ranger, with it's larger -10 hose and proper factory markings and appearance, it stands above the competition.

Our goal in developing the dipstick was to have a plug and play, OEM looking dipstick, so when you open the hood, it looks OEM, reads like a OEM dipstick and looks like it belongs, just like it came from Ford that way. 

The MBS dipsticks (also known as the "Fitzstick") are assembled by hand in the United States with locally and globally sourced materials.

Be sure to see the installation video, click on the link below, a few minor things have changed since the video, primarily the wrenching sizes, the transmission fitting is now 15/16" or 24mm wrench/socket, the bracket hold down bolt is now a 5/16" or 8mm socket.

We now include a custom fit funnel, it hooks on the cowl of the Ranger and fits inside the MBS dipstick, it has double O rings for a leak proof seal.

The MBS RS-1023 comes with a 1 year warranty against materials or workmanship defects.
